Ordering Recommendation
Aids in determining menopausal status in individuals assigned female at birth, starting at 42 years of age. This test should be used in conjunction with other clinical and laboratory findings. This test is FDA cleared only for individuals 42-62 years of age; for all other individuals, refer to Anti-Mullerian Hormone (2002656).

Specimen Required
Serum separator tube. Also acceptable: Plain red or green (lithium heparin).
Separate from cells ASAP or within 2 hours of collection. Transfer 0.5 mL serum to an ARUP standard transport tube. (Min: 0.2 mL)
Frozen.
Specimens must be from individuals 42-62 years of age.
Ambient: Unacceptable; Refrigerated: 1 week; Frozen: 3 weeks (avoid repeated freeze/thaw cycles)

MenoCheck is an FDA-cleared test intended to be used as an aid in the determination of menopausal status in people between 42 to 62 years of age that were assigned female at birth. This test should be used in conjunction with other clinical and laboratory findings. This test should not be used to assess a menstruating individual's fertility status or for use in monitoring or predicting the ovarian response in menstruating individuals undergoing or planning to undergo fertility treatments.
